Jacques-Cartier, Montmorency Falls, and Île d'Orléans

You sleep in Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier and spend the days at Montmorency Falls, on Île d'Orléans, and in Old Québec. The SÉPAQ reservation comes first. Spring through fall is the camping window.

Valley camping and the Île d'Orléans loop from a Quebec City campervan

Paddling the Jacques-Cartier River runs between cliff walls in a glacier-cut valley. Canoes work the current under De la Vallée, and the night is in Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier. Some sites in the same park are canoe-only, so the pad you book has to take a vehicle.

De la Vallée is SÉPAQ's RV sector, paved and cleared and sited farther from the comfort station than the other loops. Des Alluvions carries electricity on its sites.

Lock the SÉPAQ reservation online before the van, especially on summer weekends, and arrive with daylight if you can.

Montmorency Falls

At Parc de la Chute-Montmorency the water drops past the cable-car line and the via ferrata cliff. You ride the cable car, clip onto the via ferrata, or take the zipline, all sold by SÉPAQ. A bike path from the city runs to the park. This is the falls day everyone does.

Île d'Orléans

From Beauport you cross the Île d'Orléans Bridge onto Route 368. Chemin Royal hugs the shore through six villages, two lanes, orchard rows and cider stands on the shoulder, the river on the other side. Farm stands and cider houses are the stops.

Camping Orléans is between the shore and a bluff. It has pull-through sites, 50-amp service, and a dump station. Sleep here when you want the villages in the morning. If you need more sleeping space or a longer rig than a campervan, look at RVs for rent in Quebec City.

Baie-Saint-Paul is the first Charlevoix town, and Charlevoix and the Saguenay are the rest of Quebec.

Old Québec

Dufferin Terrace gives you the Château Frontenac on the ramparts, copper over stone and the river underneath. Park outside the walls and walk the streets and the ramparts.

Montreal is the other campervan city.
