Oka beach and the Calvaire

Parc national d'Oka is the close SÉPAQ overnight from Laval, with a beach on Lac des Deux Montagnes and hookups only while camping is open, May through mid-October. In town, the day is a paddle on the Rivière des Mille-Îles from Berge du Garrot. North of Laval, Saint-Sauveur is the first Laurentians town on the drive.

Beach nights at Oka and a paddle on the Mille-Îles

The Calvaire at Parc national d'Oka climbs past four oratories and three chapels, and the summit looks over Lac des Deux Montagnes to the Adirondacks. The walk is the chapels, then that lake view, then back down to the shore.

The main beach is on that same lake. Swimming here is the rest of the day, sand on Lac des Deux Montagnes. Sleep here on the first night. The beach and the Calvaire are already inside the park.

The van stays on a site in De l'Anse, De la Crête, Des Dunes, Du Méandre, or Du Refuge. SÉPAQ keeps those sectors open May through mid-October, with hookups only while those sectors are open. The beach is the day, and the sector is the overnight.

If you need more sleeping space than a campervan bunk, look at RVs for rent in Laval.

When you want a paddle day, the river is in Laval.

Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles

From Secteur Berge du Garrot, kayaks and rabaskas thread the islands and marshes. The Laval sector of Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles is a river day of channels and reeds. You launch, you paddle, you come back to the same berge.

The park calls its Laval boat rental center one of the largest in Quebec. It rents kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards from mid-May through mid-October as of September 2026, weekends first in the shoulder, then daily in summer.

North through Saint-Sauveur

North of Laval, Autoroute 15 is the drive into the Laurentians. Saint-Sauveur is the first town you recognize on that road.

Mont-Tremblant further on is a Montreal overnight, and Montreal itself is the city day.
