Stay at Edgewater Bar on the Fraser and walk or drive into Fort Langley for the palisade. The Fort to Fort Trail links the 1827 site at Derby Reach to the 1839 fort in the village.
Metro Vancouver releases the whole Edgewater season on February 1, as of August 2026. The campground runs March 1 through October 31, and July and August weekends go first.
Derby Reach and Fort Langley
Tour the palisade the next morning. Parks Canada keeps Fort Langley National Historic Site open 10:00 to 16:30 daily, as of August 2026. March, April, and October run wet, so the dry days are the ones that feel worth it.
Get groceries and fuel in Walnut Grove or Fort Langley before you commit to the gate. Highway 1 Exit 58 at 200 Street, then 96 Avenue, 208 Street, and Allard Crescent to 21801 Allard Crescent. The Derby Reach brochure marks the highway about 5 km from the campground and Fort Langley about 2 km.
Pads are unserviced gravel with a picnic table and fire pit. Showers are at the day-use building. Each site takes one RV, camper, or trailer. If you need more sleeping space or sewer, RV rentals in Langley cover the same overnight.
Do not swim the Fraser at the bar. Metro Vancouver calls the river fast, murky, and unsafe, and the Derby Bluffs steep and undercut. Keep food in the van, because bears, cougars, and coyotes move through the park.
If Edgewater is booked, or you are here November through February, Fort Camping sits at 9451 Glover Road on Brae Island. Highway 1 Exit 66 at 232 Street, then Glover Road north through the village, over the tracks and the bridge. Fort Camping holds RV sites to a two-night minimum, three on long weekends, as of August 2026.
