Sibbald Point on Lake Simcoe

Sibbald Point Provincial Park is the Lake Simcoe beach overnight from Newmarket, with camping from spring into late fall. The Holland Marsh at Bradford is the market-garden drive through black-soil fields and farm stands. The park is in Georgina, near Jackson's Point.

Newmarket campervan trips to Lake Simcoe and the Holland Marsh

The treed campground loops at Sibbald Point open onto a large sandy beach on Lake Simcoe, the day on the sand and the night in the trees behind it. In July and August, Ontario Parks keeps the Eildon Hall museum open, and its stone walls show through the leaves on the park roads. The park is in Georgina, near Jackson's Point, on York Regional Road 18.

Ontario Parks lists electrical and non-electrical campsites here, including pull-throughs for trailers. Treed non-electrical loops run next to more open pull-throughs, so the pad you reserve decides how the night feels. Some loops are radio-free. If a campervan is tight on sleeping space, look at RVs for rent in Newmarket.

You can take Sibbald Point as a first night on the lake, or stay for a beach week that never leaves the park. Camping runs from spring into late fall, and Ontario Parks keeps day use at the beach open year-round. In summer, reserve the site first, then book the van.

The Holland Marsh at Bradford

Highway 400 rides a causeway over the Holland Marsh, a band of black soil below the road. Farm stands and greenhouses line the shoulder through Bradford. The marsh's own site calls it the heart of Canada's vegetable industry.

Drive it after a beach morning. Sleep back at Sibbald Point.

The same lake keeps going north, and Orillia is the base for Mara and McRae Point. Barrie is the overnight for Awenda on Georgian Bay. A longer trip through Toronto is Algonquin.
