By the Wednesday of Electric Forest, the GA RV campground at Double JJ Resort in Rothbury has motorhomes and trailers in long rows, awnings out, hoses snaking over to the spigots. Main Street's food and craft vendors set up inside the campground, close enough that breakfast is a walk in flip-flops. For four nights the rig is the kitchen, the shade, the bunk room, and the place the group finds each other between sets.
A rig in those rows camps on the festival's RV Pass, good from Wednesday to Sunday, and the GA Powered RV Pass adds one RV site with 30 amp electrical service, as of October 2026. Arrive on the first day of the pass and that afternoon can go to leveling the rig, running the cord, and setting up camp before the music starts in earnest.
Get the RV pass sorted before you book the motorhome, because without it the rig has nowhere to sleep for the weekend. Festival week also pulls on the rental rigs within reach of Rothbury and on the resort pads up at Silver Lake, so a trip that pairs the music with a dune week afterward needs the pass, the rig, and the resort booked together.
When the weekend wraps, Double JJ keeps a dump station on the property, so the tanks can be emptied before the rig moves on. Its own campground runs full-hookup and water-and-electric sites on 20 to 50 amp service and stays open through October, with bookings taken by phone, according to Double JJ's camping page. Some of those sites need up to 100 feet of hose, which makes a long one worth its space in the storage bay.
If it's only two of you and a hose, a cord, and a dump run are more rig than the weekend needs, the Rothbury campervan page covers Electric Forest in something smaller.
Silver Lake dunes from a resort in Mears
The dune week at Silver Lake settles into a rhythm fast: sand on the boots all day, back to the resort for the pool and the splash pad, and a motorhome that sits on a shaded concrete pad until checkout. Summer at the dunes is hot enough that hookups matter, and with power and water at the site the air conditioning runs through the afternoon while nobody thinks about the tanks.
Three private resorts in Mears carry the week. Silver Hills Campground has full-hookup sites on concrete pads, back-in or pull-through, plus grass sites and extra-long premium full-hookup sites. Sun Retreats Silver Lake opens in early April and closes at the end of October, and Silver Lake Resort and Campground runs over 200 sites with full-hookup RV sites among them.
None of the three posts a length limit, so book the pad before the rig: call the resort with the motorhome's length, let them name the site, and rent to fit it. A family in a 30-foot Class C and a group with a long fifth-wheel delivered to the pad are after different sites, and the extra-long ones at Silver Hills are the ones to ask about at the bigger end.
The dune ride, Silver Lake State Park's campground, Charles Mears State Park at Pentwater and the Hart-Montague Trail all make good days out from a Mears pad, and the Rothbury campervan page covers each of them. Farther up the shore, Ludington State Park opens the up-north week on the Grand Rapids RV page, which carries the rig detail, and the Michigan RV page lays out the rest of the state.
