Morning on Normandy Lake comes up slow, the reservoir still enough to hold the sky and nobody in a hurry to move the rig. At the TVA campground at Barton Springs you set up once, roll the awning out, and let the days run together: breakfast at the outdoor table, an afternoon on the water, supper while the light goes off the lake. The kids get bunks of their own, the cooler gives way to a real fridge, and nobody has to strike a tent when a summer thunderstorm comes across the water.
Book the site before you book the rig. TVA's page for the Barton Springs campground lists its length limits and hookup details, and the site you land decides the rental, with a long site leaving room for a full-size Class C and a short one pointing you to a smaller motorhome or a trailer. If the site is tight or the trip is just the two of you, the Manchester campervan page has the smaller rigs. Middle Tennessee summers run hot and humid, so check whether your site has power before you plan on running the air through the afternoon.
A lake week still wants a day or two away from the shore. The old stone walls at Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park make the history afternoon, Tims Ford State Park is a second lake shore to explore, and Rock Island is where the Caney Fork has cut its gorge. All three are written up as overnights on the Manchester campervan page, and the Tennessee RV page maps the other lake weeks around the state.
Bonnaroo's powered RV field, and the 2027 break
In a festival June, Bonnaroo lines the Farm's grass with rows of motorhomes and trailers, awnings out, chairs facing the neighbors, the poster arch on the walk in. Mid-June on an open Tennessee field is hot, and that heat is the reason to come in a rig, because the festival sells its RV camping as Power RV and every site plugs in.
Bonnaroo's accommodations page puts Starship Spaceport at 30 or 50 amp with no water hookups and a mobile water fill for a fee, so a Spaceport rig rolls in with its fresh tank full. Area 931 adds water and waste service to the same 30 and 50 amp power, which suits a family rig staying the whole festival. Car camping on the Farm is a different weekend, and the campervan page covers it.
Bonnaroo is taking 2027 off, as of October 2026, so there is no festival June and no Power RV field to book that year. In the years it runs, the festival and a June lake week at Normandy pull on the same Manchester rigs, so plan the lake week around festival dates and lock in both the site and the rig early.
