Outdoorsy is a peer-to-peer RV rental marketplace. Private owners list their RVs, campervans, and trailers, and renters book them directly (Airbnb, but for RVs). It's one of the largest marketplaces in the category, which mostly means you'll find inventory in places where the traditional rental companies have no depot. How to apply it
Choose your RV and dates, continue to checkout, and enter the code in the discount field on the payment step. It is not on the listing page. Before you confirm, check that a discount line has appeared in the price breakdown. If it hasn't, the code hasn't applied, and codes generally can't be added to a booking after it's confirmed.
What "10% off the nightly rate" means
It means the nightly rate, specifically, and not the total you pay. An Outdoorsy booking is the owner's nightly rate multiplied by your nights, plus a service fee, a protection or insurance plan, taxes, and any add-ons you picked: mileage packages, generator hours, kitchen kits, delivery, pet or cleaning fees. Outdoorsy's own fee page puts the guest service fee at 10% of the booking total and leaves protection packages and taxes outside that calculation.
The code comes off the first of those. So on a booking where the nightly rate is $1,200 of a $1,700 total, the saving is around $120, not $170. Worth knowing before you compare it against a flat-dollar code on another site, which may be worth more on a short trip and less on a long one. Getting a better price than the code
The largest lever on a peer-to-peer booking is usually not the code. It's the listing you choose and the days you pick.
Owners set their own nightly rates, and many set weekly or monthly discounts that dwarf 10%. Midweek pickups are frequently cheaper than Friday ones. And mileage is where peer-to-peer bookings quietly get expensive. Outdoorsy says rentals typically include a base amount of miles and hours and then charge for usage beyond it, with the terms set listing by listing, so a low nightly rate paired with a stingy allowance can end up costing more on a long route than a pricier listing with generous miles. Compare the total for your actual trip length, not the headline rate.
